Cabin Fever: The Isba in Moscow

From Moscow with love of rustic charm and antiques…..

I often vacillate in the winter months between dreams of tropical beaches and golden sunsets with warm, cozy, weekends at a cabin getaway in Canada or the States, especially in Quebec, Maine or Vermont. Mulling over the idea of winter themes, I came upon an interesting concept of the isba in Russia and how one enterprising antiques dealer brought rustic Russia to his apartment in Moscow.

Isbas are traditional log cabins found in the Russian countryside built like farm structures. Below are glimpses of 19th Century isba detailing brought into a 1970s Soviet-style apartment building.
